IGF-1 DES 1mg research peptide
IGF-1 DES (des(1-3)IGF-1) is a naturally occurring truncated form of insulin-like growth factor 1 that lacks the first three N-terminal amino acids. The shortened 67-residue protein is supplied as 1mg of lyophilised solid.

Why the truncation matters
Removing the N-terminal tripeptide sharply reduces binding to IGF-binding proteins, which normally sequester IGF-1. IGF-1 DES is therefore used in cell-culture and receptor studies to look at IGF-1 receptor signalling with less interference from binding proteins.

Storage and handling
On arrival, transfer the unopened vial to storage at -20°C, protected from light and moisture. Allow it to warm to room temperature before the seal is broken. Reconstitution conditions and the handling of any solution are for the receiving laboratory to set.
