Research background
KTTKS and its palmitoylated form are used in fibroblast cultures to study signals that stimulate collagen and fibronectin production. The palmitoyl group is added to improve lipophilicity in skin-penetration studies. Matrixyl is well known as a cosmetic ingredient, but this product is supplied only as a research reagent.
