MOTS-c in research

MOTS-c has been studied in cell culture and mouse models for its effects on AMPK signalling, glucose handling and metabolic responses to exercise and ageing. It is one of the more widely cited mitochondria-derived peptides, alongside humanin. MOTS-c is not an approved medicine, and use in competitive sport is prohibited.
